George Erickson (prepared for 40th Anniversary)
One of the Original Board Members
He served on the Board until 1990

In 1952, the Christian Business Mens' Committee of the area felt the need to reach children for Jesus Christ, many of whom were unchurched.

About this time “Uncle” Henry Harms was holding children's meetings in the area and put us in touch with “Aunt” Lillie Noakes and “Aunt” Ruth Attebery who were doing rural missionary work in Wisconsin.

They were contacted and in March of 1953, Kids' Klubs was organized with Aunt Lillie and Aunt Ruth as directors. In the fall of that year, the first Bible clubs were started.

As the work progressed, the Christian Business' Mens' Committee felt they could not continue to support Kids' Klubs. God was faithful. Churches and individuals in the area took over the support. In May 1962, we incorporated under the State of Illinois as non-profit, religious and educational organization under the name of Kids' Klubs Inc.

A six member board of laymen along with the directors carried on the business of the organization. A constitution, by-laws and doctrinal statement were published.

Our purpose was to promote and conduct Bible clubs for children and to conduct training classes for Bible club teachers and helpers.

Due to Aunt Lillie's failing health and Aunt Ruth's marriage, the Board asked Rex and Geneva Stanley to assume the responsibility as directors. This was early summer of 1971.

After Geneva's death, Rex married Arlene and they served until their retirement in May of 1988.

Rene and Lynn Noble followed in September of 1988.

The Board meets once a month and a considerable portion of each meeting is devoted to prayer and praise for God's leading and blessing. Whatever success we have had is certainly due to this and the prayers of faithful friends.

Hundreds of lives have been influenced and several are in the ministry or preparing themselves for Christian service. We are thankful for all who made themselves available over the years to minister to children.
